Charitable Element - All Net Proceeds Go to OCHA
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is a United Nations program that "coordinates the global emergency response to save lives and protect people in humanitarian crises" (Link). OCHA advocates for "effective and principled humanitarian action by all, for all". Currently, the biggest crisis that OCHA is facing is the Yemen Crisis. As such, the donation H-MUN makes upon the conclusion of the conference will directly aid the topic at hand.
H-MUN believes by working with OCHA, students not only gain experience in the Model UN environment, but also are able to contribute to the topic that is being discussed. This allows students to make a difference as well as gain something from their experience at H-MUN. At H-MUN we are both raising awareness of a crisis in the world and providing aid to it. While all net proceeds were given to the OCHA, H-MUN also encourages delegates to give additional donations that will be added to the full donation amount. This can be either at the conference or if the delegates like, beforehand. In that case don't hesitate to donate here. For more information, click here to learn about the OCHA. |
